If we're going to Persian well, in the old days rules were followed... whether they were correct or not. If we were to think about it, kings and nobles had their ranks, and servants were there, just to serve them. But is there a chance a king could fall in love with a handmaiden?
Tales of the South Seas Fanfiction Did you know that Will Snow and Rachel Blakely star in another series before playing Roxton and Marguerite in The Lost World? Tales of the South Seas is an Australian series starring Will Snown and Rachel Blakely in the late 90s. With only one season, unfortunately without an end, the plot tells the adventures of the legendary Captain David Grief (Will Snow) and his faithful friend Mauriri (Rene Naufahu) aboard their boat, the Rattler, in Matavai, French Polynesia. Facing pirates, cannibals and savage tribes, the charming captain shies away from any danger except a beautiful, mysterious, clear-eyed Brit who goes by the name of Isabelle Reed (Rachel Blakely). David meets Isabelle in the first episode, at the time she is in the custody of the French government accused of the murder of her fiancé, an army officer. At the request of the local guard, Grief's boat is recruited to transport the detainees. The attraction between the two is inevitable and David somehow believes in her innocence, but she, however, takes advantage of the captain's benevolence and runs away leaving him in a delicate situation for taking with her a valuable artifact. When she is finally captured, Isabelle is sent to a prison where she undergoes terrible torture. David and Mauriri, aware that the young woman is being accused of crimes she did not commit, decide to save her by infiltrating the prison under the guise of doctors. Once released, Ms. Reed decides to take matters into his own hands again and seek revenge on the people who framed her and took her scam money. When she finds herself in trouble, Isabelle needs the help of her savior duo once again. However, in this opportunity, David and Mauriri force her to return the stolen money and go through a trial that exonerates her of her crimes. To the fear of the captain, Isabelle decides to settle in Matavai and thus start an honest life. In a short time, she becomes an important part of the local community, although her advanced behavior for the time causes some residents to be strange. The girl buys a stable and starts an animal trading business. At the same time, whenever appropriate, the beautiful and daring woman dedicates herself to the art of seducing and flirting with Grief. This one, in turn, dodges her advances, trying to keep their relationship in the safe ambit of friendship. The couple's chemistry and attraction is obvious, but the captain prevents their relationship from taking a course that, according to him, could be unpredictable in the future. In the last episodes of the series, David gets involved with another mysterious woman with a questionable past, Jenny Duval. Passion leaves him blind and he refuses to listen to friendly advice. Jenny involves him in a spiral of self-destruction, Grief breaks off relations with Mauriri and almost goes bankrupt, being forced to sell part of the Rattler. Then it's time for Isabelle to show her gratitude for the times David saved her life. She buys part of the boat by becoming his partner and saves his life when Jenny is about to shoot him. The series ends with David alone looking out over the vastness of the sea, probably reflecting on the direction his life had taken. Since there was no second season, we don't know what really happened. Speculation warned that Grief and Isabelle would finally have their romance in the following seasons, as the couple gained the affection of fans. This public appeal boosted the choice of actors to star in The Lost World as our beloved Lords Roxton and Marguerite. The following fanfic is a continuation of the series, as I would like to see the passion of David and Isabelle finally be born and for that I bring again Benjamin Summerlee (see fic An empty title). Benjamin is an elegant, newly graduated British doctor who decides to start his career in a remote and idyllic community in the South Pacific. Sometimes we only realize what is important and essential when we are faced with the possibility of losing it…
