In the year 2004, the Get Backers recovery group, formed by Midou Ban and Amano Ginji, were given a mission to rescue a kidnapped friend of Ginji who belonged to the ancient Voltz, one of the four kings, Makubex, a genius hacker who tried to unravel the secrets of the Mugenjou file that was in the hands of the Brain Trust, known as the God of Mugenjou that inhabits the Tower of Babylon that is on the highest floor of Mugenjou. After the incident, the lower floor of Mugenjou was freed by the Get Backers with the help of the transporters, Kudou Hikiko (Lady Poison), Kuroudo Acabane (Doctor Jackal) and two of the former kings of the Voltz, The Beast Tamer (Fuiyuki Shido) and the Master of Lines (Fuchoin Kazuki). Two years later, a new group is to be created, with Tachibana Tetsu, a valiant street fighter wielding the demonic hand Yami no Tsume (Claw of Darkness) and Arima Lion, the master marksman of the high nobility.
