While tissue samples from Dr. Bernstein are analyzed in the laboratory, a team from the B.S.A.A. is sent to the Urals with the aim of investigating the cave and discovering that it is yet another case of Bioterrorism. When a heavy snowstorm isolates the members of the B.S.A.A. in the cave and forces them to advance further and further into the Sphere complex, a testing ground for Umbrella, they are forced to cooperate with their enemies if they want to leave the complex alive, as the base's self-destruct system has been initiated, and the whole place will explode in 24 hours. However, the creatures that still inhabit the Sphere have other plans for them.
