Voids

We suppose that
navigating our empty spaces
has to involve labels.
That the journey of finding out
exactly who we are is accomplished
when we can describe ourselves in three words
with absolute certainty.
And we marvel at the beauty of
the unknown in the world,
yet deny that such a thing
could apply to the human soul.
We question ourselves and stress
over who we are,
and still, we deny the idea
of ourselves just being.
Is self actualization essential?
Why must we fill in the blank?
What is the meaning
behind the unspoken satisfaction
of having a definition?
You and I are wonderful
as we are.
We are universes all in our own,
with voids that are a part of us;
nothing more, nothing less.
