"Shugo Chara!" é uma série de anime e mangá criada por Peach-Pit. O mangá foi serializado na revista Nakayoshi, da Kodansha, de 2006 a 2010, sendo compilado em um total de doze volumes. A adaptação para anime foi ao ar no Japão entre 2007 e 2010, com um total de quatro temporadas. A história gira em torno de Amu Hinamori, uma estudante do ensino fundamental que tem dificuldade em expressar sua verdadeira personalidade. Um dia, ela deseja ter coragem para ser mais sincera consigo mesma e acaba recebendo três ovos misteriosos em seu quarto. Esses ovos se transformam em "Shugo Charas", personificações dos sonhos e desejos ocultos de Amu. Cada Shugo Chara possui habilidades especiais e representa um aspecto diferente da personalidade de Amu. Eles são: Ran, o Guardião dos Sonhos; Miki, o Guardião da Vontade; e Suu, o Guardião do Amor.
