In the 1960s, Farkle Minkus is a very smart, but practically failed writer who, after his father refuses financial aid, returns to living off his books (or rather, his book, in the singular). He could just be someone else who didn't make it in life, like so many in New York, and remain an ordinary man. But by luck, chance, or fate, he will live right above Miss Riley Metthews, a "lady" who lives off the money her high society affairs bring her. Riley lives amid high society, partying and luxury, everything Farkle has sworn to stay away from. But Riley has something Farkle has never seen before: an enigma he can't solve. The redhead dives into this apparently futile world of the girl, but which holds more secrets than she imagined. He's what Riley would call a "loser", never would have imagined falling in love with a guy like that. She was enough of failures, nameless cat, and her best friend, Maya, a revolutionary artist who sold very few paintings in her life. No, Riley was determined to marry a rich man, preferably old, and buy a house where she could feel like she was at Tiffany's, her favorite store. But she never imagined that one person could make her feel like she was at Tiffany's. And Farkle never imagined that one person could change his life so much.
