When the day finally arrived, both gods were taken by surprise by the attack of a third being, the God of the universe, who intended to wipe out all life on earth through gigantic waves of the sea, among other catastrophes. So to protect her people, the gods joined forces, using the ship to shelter the people, the Storm Goddess turned everyone who couldn't get on the ship into fishmen to survive the untamed sea and the fury thrown upon them. It was all over, the gods disappeared, and only refugees and creatures survived. The ship was intact, not a wood or nail out of place. And to this day this bewitched ship sails across all seas, secretly escorted by what we now call mermaids.
