Tired of Dean hiding the game and telling half-truths, Castiel urges him to open up and ends up forcing him to tell him what's on his head and heart. Dean is not the best with words, so he chose to show rather than tell.

Castiel tried to convince himself that Dean wasn't dead: "No. It can't be. It's not true. Dean didn't die, of course not. He never dies, does he? He always escapes, he always comes back. He will come back." Knowing that the blonde had died was killing the angel. Protected Dean whenever he could and now that they were further apart, the blonde dies. Guilt and despair took over the angel and he wouldn't know how to live without the one he loves so much.

Klissyan

The Mark of Cain had made Dean a demon, a demon full of desires and passions, a passion he needed to live. Upon being captured by Sam and Castiel, the newborn demon had to be tied up in Bobby's panic room while Sam searched for a cure. Sam left Dean under Castiel's eyes, who, even reluctantly, gladly accepted. It will be a long weekend.
