kingdom in ashes
In 10th century Scotland, after the latest events in her kingdom, Princess Merida must deal with the consequences of her actions. All eyes are on her now, and more than ever, she needs to take responsibility for her as a princess and as the only person aware of a new threat looming in the shadows. However, it will still be necessary to face the dangers of a new invasion from the north - this time, even more terrifying than the last, as a new tribe with new methods of fighting has arrived in the country. On the other hand, Hiccup finds himself surrounded by dubious alliances and needs to be cautious in his decisions, as the future of his people and new dragons found in a distant land is in his hands. Once again, he must be able to recognize which is the right way to go for the good of all. Or almost everyone? A new war is imminent; and this time it will be necessary to know who the real enemy is.

“This story isn't even finished yet, but I felt compelled to write a recommendation. This fanfic is simply amazing! I didn't imagine I would find a crossover with this level of narrative. The story, despite having a more serious tone, unlike what we see in the films on which it was based, manages to be very faithful to the established worlds and characters that we know and love so much and even expands upon them. Our dear Julia brings us the consequences of the events in the films, both for Merida in Brave and for Hiccup and his gang in How to Train Your Dragon. It portrays in a very interesting way the encounters of different peoples who are not only different in their places of origin, but also in language and culture as a whole. None of this is left aside by the author, making us increasingly want to see the interactions between characters from different franchises and what each character can learn from the other. Kingdom in Ashes is a great story with adventure, action and fantasy that I really hope I can read until the end.”
