gladiators

3rd century BC, time of the policy of bread and circuses, to please Rome, its senate, magistrate and praetors. Made at the cost of lives, men and women, fighters, warriors, gladiators. Behind honor, glory, life and freedom. Rome was expanding, conquering territory, killing what it saw, imprisoning the strongest enemies. She was one of the Amazon warriors, feared Sparta and great Athens. Time of Greco-Roman culture, of the ancient gods, of their children, true heroes. Potter was disciplined, polite, and had inconveniently lovely green eyes. What Hélène hadn’t mentioned were the mugs, the overnight guests, and the irritating ease with which Harry made him laugh. Between afternoon teas, research that kept no office hours, and an Olympic qualifier, Draco was discovering that he might like Harry even better once he stopped seeming perfect.
