Prince Nuada lost his great golden army and the crown that confirmed his power over it. Centuries passed and the mortal, fragile and treacherous world evolved, people became cold and calculating and the love of many cooled. After a long period of confinement in a prison for highly skilled criminals, Nuada has a chance to ally himself with some inmates and arrange his escape, which by the way proves to be a great success. With nowhere to take refuge, Nuada decides to return to the castle that was once his property, and upon reaching his destination, he realizes that the kingdom is now nothing more than a few rubble and ruins. With a lot of effort and the help of some mystical creatures, he is able to quickly rebuild his principality, creating an almost impenetrable barrier in the middle of the darkness of the forest. Phoebe Vogue is a complicated girl, in the opinion of many psychologists rather problematic. At twenty-one, she still lives with her biological father, stepmother Rose, and two younger brothers Caleb and Benjamin. But it's not like she really felt like a member of that family, after marrying Rose her father became even more obsessed with success and spends tireless hours at work with his more than cliché philosophy: "Time is money". Completely exhausted and feeling rejected, Phoebe decides it's time to take charge of her own life. But working as a clerk in a bookstore does not guarantee a stable or even promising survival. However, she concludes that she is no longer able to live under the same roof as the unbelieving 'family'. And on a cold and wild winter's night she executes her long-awaited escape. Phoebe considers taking refuge in an acquaintance's house, but her reputation is not the best and the girl ends up being expelled from every dwelling she dares to ask for help. She ends up aimlessly and totally lost, that's when she spots the great columns of what initially appears to be an old mansion. Phoebe takes a few more steps, praying that the place is really abandoned, but ends up having an unpleasant encounter with a mysterious man possessing a rare beauty, with his misty winter skin and his long platinum hair. Little does the poor girl know what she's about to get herself into. Two people, completely different goals, potentially devastating personalities. A common destiny?
