Chaves is an eight-year-old orphan boy who lives creating troubles with some residents, such as Seu Magruda, Dona Florinda, Dona Clotilde and even with the owner of the village, Senhor Barriga. He also pranks his friends, also from the village, Quico and Chiquinha. Chaves and his friends study together at school, and have classes with Professor Girafales, who is the boyfriend of Quico's mother, Dona Florinda, and is always going to the village to visit her and getting into trouble with Chaves and his friends.
