Echoes of Orpheus
If the sweetness of a child's laughter is sweet, her dreams should be sweeter. However, the humming of Lyta Hall's son within the Dream Realm brought bitter memories to Morpheus' mind: memories of his son Orpheus. The echoes mingle in his heart and Perpetuo repeats his son's crime: looking back.

“In 3,100 words, the author perfectly evokes all the emotion that Neil Gaiman gives us in Sandman. Completely ethereal, poetic, sublime and reflective, it deserves your full attention. It's a story about regrets, bad judgments, redemption and, obviously, the power that our dreams have over us, even when approached. And the bonus goes to Matthew, who always steals the show with his witty comments. It's exciting in everything it proposes ♡”

Morpheus' lips could utter many things, from intelligent arguments to harsh words, but they hardly ever said something without deeming it necessary. Worse would be admitting that he had changed in the face of the latest events of his perpetual existence. Immersed in his reflections on change and stagnation, he receives a visit from an old acquaintance: the messenger goddess, Iris. And she has three wishes before she dies.
Morpheus finds an anomaly in the Dreaming, which could be the chance that the King of Dreams and Nightmares has to look within and allow himself to hear what others have to say.

"I didn't know if what she offered me was serious, would renting her heart cost me just a smile? Part of me said it was foolish, that I should get up from this bench and go home to face my problems like the man who I was, that this girl, who infected me with her easy smile and happy look, was just a nutcase with nothing more useful to do than annoy me and the other part... That part found itself responding, first with the outline of a smile that was the required payment and then with the words I never thought would ever leave my lips..."
