...he admired her because, like a lioness, she knew how to respond firmly to any harshness, and knew how to blush as much as her red hair. ...she admired him because, with his brown eyes and slightly crooked smile, he would conquer the whole world, and she could only melt at his kindness. In this story, Gilbert Blythe and Anne Shirley Cuthbert find themselves in Gilbert's old house at Christmastime, and the gift she gives him will keep him warm for a lifetime.
