"I wasn't falling for Gerard. And neither was he for me. We were doing the exact opposite. We were getting up. And no one would be able to stop that." Gerard Way is a famous comic book artist and editor. He is about to marry one of the most renowned architects in North America and will possibly have a more than perfect life with her. Possibly, because Gerard won't have it. Way ends up running away from marriage sooner than expected and reveals a secret he's been hiding since he was a teenager. Gerard, who sees life in a systematic and monotonous way, decides to go it alone and rebuild his life in another way. Until I meet Frank Iero, a music student, aspiring rockstar and the complete opposite of him. Talkative, restless, messy and extremely noisy, Iero sees life in a completely different way than Way. He wants the world to sing his lyrics and he lives for his music, even with all the difficulties that appear before his eyes. Frank ends up needing to move out of his cousin's apartment and asks Mikey, his best friend, to help him find a temporary place, until he stabilizes. Mikey ends up convincing his brother to give his guest room to Frank and, with just a few hours of living together, Gerard already sees his world turned upside down with the boy's presence. Gerard could regret it and give up the goodwill to help his brother's friend easily. Except for realizing, little by little, that Frank is exactly what he needs to rebuild himself.
