In 1989, 43 children were inexplicably born to women who had shown no signs of pregnancy the day before. Eight of these extraordinary children were adopted by the eccentric millionaire Sir. Reginald Hargreeves. Who trained his "children" to save the world, creating the famous Umbrella Academy. Andromeda Hargreeves, aka Number 8, was the last child to be adopted into this family of Superheroes. Gifted with empathic and aeromokinesis powers, she learned to control them from childhood. Unfortunately, the family has disintegrated over the years and the group of heroes has gone their separate ways. Andromeda was the last to leave the comfort of her home, unlike her brothers she didn't leave because of a disagreement with her father, but because she got a job as a biochemist in a large pharmaceutical company in London. As much as she tried to keep in touch with her siblings, distance and life's problems turned them from family to complete strangers. However, after many years, the seven survivors are reunited when they learn of their father's death and discover that grief will not be the only thing they will have to deal with. For Five, the brother who had disappeared years ago, has returned with bad news about an apocalyptic future.
