The Girl on the Bus

Synopsis

It was a routine. Eduardo took the bus at 2:55 pm at the stop in front of the church, got in and put the pass, then went through the turnstile. He walked to the last seats and sat in the back, by the window. He would open his backpack, take the book he was reading, put on his headphones, turn the songs on at random and start reading. At least until the third stop, when, involuntarily, he lifted his eyes from the pages of the book and waited anxiously for her to pass through the turnstile.

The old sages had already said: Be careful what you wish for. Over the shoulders of Thaedel, Queen of Guthbeorth, the shadow of unbirth fell. Frustrated with her painful failures to produce an heir, the peculiar queen seeks help from one of the mighty forces found in her realm: Hungat the Shadowsucker. And so she had asked for her wish to be granted. And then, from the putrid hands, the light that he lacked in the kingdom was born. But along with the birth of the delicate young girl, Reya, a chain had also been born, binding her forever at the price of a wish. What is given is often demanded. It was no different when the destination finally arrived.

Some doors, once opened, can never be closed again. Helena is in no hurry, nor is she afraid, and she does not let herself be swayed by pretty words. But every rose has its thorn. When two such different presences cross her path, she will discover that it is not possible to keep everything under control at all times. One calms, the other sets ablaze. One is shelter, the other is storm. For even the gentlest calm holds a flame, and within the storm itself there is already a harbinger of tranquility - each heart carries within itself both the flame and the breeze that can extinguish it. Be careful not to lose yourself. The labyrinth is yours, and only you will find the way out.

In a city devastated by war, we follow the journey of two survivors who have learned, each in their own way, to live with violence, loss, and loneliness. He does not know that he saved her life. She knows only that he is more dangerous than the killers who threatened her. Neither of them seeks company. Nor do they believe that there is still room for kindness in a world where surviving demands so much. But a dead boy and an almost insignificant act of kindness end up intertwining their fates. Between small acts of care, silences, and difficult choices, two strangers discover that surviving the war may not be as difficult as learning to live after everything they have lost.
