My name is Lee SunKyu, I'm 17 years old, an only child and a 3rd year student at Seongkak School of Arts and Music. I have studied at this school practically since I was born because my uncle is the principal. Let's just say this isn't very cool. I'm not interested in the arts at all, let alone music. I think, in fact, what I really like is sports, but it's no use since my parents don't listen to me and I don't have anyone to play with.
IT IS. My friends don't share the same tastes as me. They are some strange figures from my school that I will introduce next. I'll start with SungMin, a repeat boy who thinks he's handsome like Rain and pesters me all day (for some reason he strongly believes I have a crush on him, which is far from true). But deep down he's cool. Ridiculously fun and likes to buy me presents.
There's also Victoria Song, a Chinese fellow who barely speaks Korean. And they still make fun of her, poor thing. It is said that they brought her to Seoul to work in the circus, as the only thing she knows how to do is contort her body. But everything is fine. She doesn't understand even half of what they say so she doesn't get too upset about it.
One of my closest colleagues is GongChan. Nerd, shy, skinny and 1st year student. I met him when we bumped into each other once at break and I ended up dropping his notebooks and folders. From inside one of the folders, several sheets fell with some drawings, let's say adults, involving male figures in unconventional acts. To our misfortune, the scene attracted the attention of the entire courtyard and from that day onwards he also began to be tormented by the people of the school. A bunch of pseudo-straights unable to come out of the closet. Fortunately he forgave me for the accident and we became good friends. We have some tastes in common.
And finally, Kim Jae Kyung. She's the ugly duckling of our class, in the best of senses. To this day I don't quite understand what she does among losers like us. She is the 3rd year monitor, very beautiful, friendly and talented. When she plays that flute in classical music lessons she makes all the boys and even some girls enchanted. Looks like she had a fight with her former childhood friend WooRi and that's why she asked to move into my class. This girl is a stuck-up 3rd-1 preppy. The high school star. She acts as a protagonist in every play we do and is the leader of the school's main girl group. Rumors say that three big agencies are fighting to hire her. Not to mention that she dates Joon, the most arrogant boy I've ever seen in my life. Beautiful. Is gay. Ah, that one doesn't fool me. Although speaking like that, it sounds like envy. But it is not. I don't have a boyfriend and I don't plan on having one. Boys only serve to burn patience. Boys from my school then, even more so.
I'm counting down the days to graduate and get rid of this school once and for all, even though I don't know exactly what I'm going to do with my life away from it. Something could happen, like magic. Something that would take me out of this boredom that seems to have no end. Something. Or someone.
