Modern Times

Synopsis

It is the beginning of the month of August. A tense and anxious time for any high school student about to take their entrance exam, but even more tense for Miguel, who is forced to change schools so close to never having to step foot in one of them again. Gripped with frustration and fatigue, he heads into his new routine with an intense desire to navigate the last few months of high school with enough detachment from his surroundings to experience no stress whatsoever: no talking, no friends, no parties. But destiny soon reveals it has other plans for him, and Miguel learns very quickly that some things cannot be escaped, such as himself, friendships, and love.

“Perhaps what can be said can be summed up in a simple word, but even the shortest of all does not demonstrate what anxiety, fear, anger, envy, pain, empathy, joy and especially longing can be seen here. After all, we all gave our fears, our misgivings and especially our paranoia about the things in the past that happened to us and that mark us forever in life. This is no different with Miguel, marked by a truly traumatic past, with "friends" who only served to be what many end up being in all these moments of pain. A scar never heals forever, there will be a mark of it there, we remember what happened, because in the end what matters is what we do when we remember it, we let it consume us, stop us from living life even if we have little time left to we have the brief illusion of freedom because we just don't see ourselves trapped in the same environment that we caused her before or we look at her as an old friend who only showed us that real "friendship" is not one for simple convenience but rather one that is willing to Hit someone who makes you shed a single tear. Because it all comes down to letting our fears control us or ourselves controlling our fears... Because this is the life we have, sometimes not everything that happens is for the bad, some can be painful in the beginning, but with Over time we see that it is the best thing that could happen in our lives. But in fact the most curious thing that can be said about this in the end is that everything changes, the world will always go round and round, we will never be the same person tomorrow as we are today, because today teaches us what tomorrow needs to be lived. Even if sometimes you don't think words will always hurt, even if without any intention, even if it's not for you, but what really matters is remembering that this person has changed, remembering that yesterday they said what hurt and today asks him what he doesn't understand. Sometimes we just want the best for someone, but in the end we don't end up knowing what to do, because we would look at it in our own way, as we live every moment, but someone who hasn't lived through it will know how to see it that you can't see and help you do what you need to make the one you love smile.”

Mas vou me esforçar.
