The dance was approaching and the elves didn't know what to do. They didn't even want to go on that thing but, as punishment, they were going to be forced to go and dance with, ugh, girls! Is there anything worse than that? They swear not. Washing dishes is better - they argued. So how to end the pursuit of possible partners and disrupt the dance? Laughing evilly, the elves made their plans.
