As a ceremonialist, Gilbert Beilschmidt is naturally not used to working multiple times for the same client. His exception is a somewhat romantic and rather hard-working aristocrat, who persists in marrying and divorcing in a short space of time, in addition to hiring him to organize each of his wedding parties, for reasons that Gilbert himself, the despite his abundant confidence in his competence, he does not fully understand.
