After all, she was ice and snow. Jadis called herself the Queen of Narnia and Selene, being younger, was just the princess. But a lower title never stopped her from trying to undo many of the atrocities that Jadis did against the Narnians using her magic staff. Selene, despite being younger, she was more experienced in the magic that controls snow and ice, so she didn't need any magic items to help her."
