Turning Pale
Valerie is a vampire guardian who moves to London in the late 19th century after her home was burned to the ground by those known as the shadows. In the year 1905, she meets and falls madly in love with Emma, a young woman who appears every week at the market in front of her building. When Emma is turned by Valerie, she agrees to become a guardian and help fight shadows and downworlders.
