The price of a debt
Starling City is a thriving village in the newest British colony in a new and unknown land: America. Entire families immigrated in search of opportunity and fortune leaving behind everything they owned in their home countries, including close relatives. Among many others are the Merlyns whose patriarch, Malcolm, after having managed to prosper relatively quickly, is forced, by force of fate, to contract a huge debt with unscrupulous people, ending up getting caught in a web revenge for which he has no idea why. Oblivious to what was happening, his eldest son, Thomas, is forced to make a quick decision in order to free a sister he didn't know existed from an ungrateful fate. That decision would ultimately change the young man's life forever in ways he never dreamed of. After living for three years in a boarding school where she completed the studies allowed for a woman at the time, Caitlin returns home happy to be back in the family. On the way, by coincidence, she meets some fellow countrymen making the rest of the trip with them. Upon arrival, she realizes that things were not what she remembered at home, shocking herself with her parents' attitude. Beautiful and naive, she soon attracts the attention of the men of the place. Two in particular. During what should have been a simple farewell, she finds herself involved along with young Merlyn in Adrian Chase's revenge plot. Left to die, young people not only survive, but assume the feeling that unites them. Back in the city, they will have to overcome the difficulties and prejudices imposed by a sexist society, fighting together for their love.

“What about "The Price of a Debt"? Well, it's an incredible fanfic, the story always keeps you hooked and even with the huge chapters, you finish reading it and think "Wow, is it over yet?" ... The story is being written masterfully by my friend Regina and I couldn't help but recommend it, I always shipped Cait with Barry, but this fanfic is so beautiful and so well written that it was practically impossible not to love it the brunette together with Tommy... Anyway, I can only say that if you're passing by and wondering if this fanfic is worth it, the answer is a big yes, I'm sure anyone who reads it This story will not regret it.
