Gina, who in that past was his best friend, was also completely in love with him as a teenager. Anyone who came close to Gina and Ferdinando's house would be scared by the fight that was going on inside. It all started with the elections in which the ocelot helped Epa and gained a taste for politics, which was already a reason for Ferdinando to be exasperated. But what the engineer didn't tell you, is that the whole story would be even more complicated due to Catarina. Since she started helping the orphanage where Lepe had lived, she became more and more involved with the local community, until one fine day she got the whole family together to share something new: —I'm going to be a candidate! Epaminondas leaned on the stairs with one hand, while he brought the other to his heart: —But this woman wants to kill me! Catarina, shoot me soon and end this suffering! —But see if you can do such a thing! Pedro Falcão was shaking his hands, torn between surprise and the desire to laugh at his friend's face. Ferdinand looked at his stepmother with wide eyes. —But Catarina, isn't everything I went through when I was a candidate enough? Why this now? Lepe and Zelão, in turn, said nothing, but shook their heads in mute disapproval. On the other hand, the women were abuzz. Gina was the first to support the decision: —Ara! That I'm with you in this fight Catarina! The redhead's excited exclamation made Ferdinando put his hand on his forehead, in an attitude of despair: —Little girl, why get involved in this? —But look, Catarina, it really is a little chicken! He's already there again afraid of the elections! Ginny said scornfully, making Ferdinand's blood boil, and drawing a derisive laugh from Catarina. Ferdinand glared at Ginny. —You know, Gina, that I am not and have never been afraid to be a candidate! So much so, that I might as well campaign for the current mayor, just to prove it to you! —But Nando, would you dare to campaign against me? Catarina looked shocked at her stepson, being comforted by Dona Tê, who was patting her on the shoulder and looking reproachfully at her son-in-law. Before the engineer could explain himself, Epaminondas jumped up the stairs and tapped his son on the shoulder: —That's right Nandinho, let's not let these abusers play with the not people! Just imagine, Catarina at City Hall! She was going to fill everything with ruffles, distribute dresses and gifts! At that moment, Juliana, who until then had been quiet in her corner, following the unfolding of the story, decided to opine: —And you think that, Colonel, because you don't believe woman can do politics, or why don't you believe your wife can? She said this with a slight smile on her face, knowing the colonel would have trouble getting around the situation. While Epa stuttered trying to make an argument, Ferdinando twitched his fingers trying to stay calm. Not that he was opposed to women's political participation, but he already imagined the problems that would come in the family. Pituca put an end to the situation by saying: —Well, you freaks know that here in this room we just formed my mother's campaign committee! And I guarantee that we will win this election! Catarina smiled excitedly at her daughter's support. —And we here, just formed the opposition committee!! Epa shouted. Neither Ferdinando nor Zelão wanted to enter the fray, but when the women formed a circle, placed their hands on each other and gave a war cry, they decided it was better to try to prevent this madness from continuing. Lepe still hadn't made up his mind, but he looked at the group of determined women in front of him, and at the group of really 'crazy' men, just like his sweet Pituca had said, and decided it would be fine. fun to take part in the contest. He walked resolutely to the center of the wheel of men, stretched out his hand in the air causing the others to follow suit, and created and uttered his own battle cry. The two groups looked at each other defiantly. The war had just begun.
