After his sister's death, he walked away from everyone. His mother, who never recovered from the loss of her sister and her estrangement, eventually died as well. His father couldn't take it long afterwards and also left. People started moving away from him, his childhood “friends” in particular. They looked at him in fear, with that superstition that everyone who was close to him would die. Fools, he called them, part of the reason he followed medicine was to prove everyone wrong.
