Alice Sanders was never an exemplary daughter, let alone a trustworthy person. Her young age said absolutely nothing, for her cleverness was admirable. Brian knew all that, he also knew that she had changed completely in three years and that there was something different about her, something mysterious. And with all due respect to his great friend, he needed danger and he knew that was exactly what Alice liked best.
