A virus has ravaged humanity. The dead returned to feed on the living. Everything we knew is gone. We are thirsty, we are hungry. Human beings show their worst. Bombed cities. The strongest survive, the weakest give up... In the midst of it all, Rafaela, her family and friends had a chance. They didn't trust the army and its Refugee Support Centers, they went away from the big cities. They try hard to survive and keep the place that is now their home safe.

The challenge is great, biomedical scientists say they do not know for sure what this new virus is and everything that accompanies it. Authorities recommend that when leaving home, avoid contact with anyone who appears to have the virus. And if you see one, immediately inform the nearest health service or call an ambulance." This was the last news I remember hearing on the radio... I don't take it all seriously, after all, from time to time there's always a "new disease" that spreads. That doesn't go very far... or does it? It's been a while now... How can I get along with people I don't even know?

When I was born, the world was this garbage heap, the country was divided and our side was the smallest of the two parts. I didn't have a chance to know what it was like before and even trying to imagine with stories Dad told, it was never enough. I was born exactly on the day of chaos. When the virus of death spread everywhere, contaminating people, animals, children and turning them into something indescribable. Something heartless. No brain. No conscience. Lifeless. Turning them into zombies.
