Isabelle Lightwood, is a shadowhunter, that is, a Shadowhunter, expelled from the NY institute, soon after transferred to the Port Angeles institute. After an incident involving her and involving some day vampires. After the little big accident, she lost the trust of her family and friends. Not knowing what punishment she was supposed to receive, Clary Fairchild, the girl who was going to be her parabatai, said it was to kick Lightwood out of the institute, or even the Clave. At first everyone thought that the idea was Meliorn's, her ex- hooker, but after several interrogations of the fairy prisoner, it was discovered that Fairchild herself had come up with the idea. Of course, everyone was intrigued by the possible rivalry between the two. As punishment, she had to choose between quitting being a shadowhunter or leaving the institute. Obviously her choice was to leave the institute, because her life was to be a Presser. After saying goodbye to everyone, she took the first plane from New York to Seattle.
