Ruth
Ruth was a Moabite, and although she was not an Israelite, she was included by God in Jesus' genealogy, to demonstrate that the gospel would also be intended for the Gentiles. Having married Ruth, Boaz begat Obed, the father of Jesse, the father of David (Ruth 4.21,22), being then Ruth and Boaz great-grandparents of King David. We learn, therefore, from the story of the book of Ruth what was the moral character, holiness, and faith of the people who were the ancestors of King David, and we can then understand on what principles of faith and fear of God he was polite.
