Synopsis

Rhiannon. This is always my first thought when I wake up. I feel like I'll never forget her, and it hurts. I chose to move on. But why does this keep bothering me? Even though I'm always jumping from body to body, it affects me. I think it's universal, even when it's been three years since I left her and ran away.

For one day

"I wish I could be in some other time or space. With someone else's soul and face." (Someday I'll Be Saturday Night - Bon Jovi) Have you ever imagined yourself living another life? Can you imagine how amazing, how good, how difficult it could be? Well, we figured it out. This is a collection of short stories based on the premise of the wonderful book Every Day, by David Levithan, in which, for unknown reasons, the protagonist wakes up every day in someone else's body. With that in mind, we, teachers, staff, students and friends who are part of the Carpe Librum group, held a literary contest at our school and the result is in this fic. The order of posting is as follows: 1 - The first three stories are from the organizers; 2 - Then come the top three; 3 - The one chosen by popular vote; 4 - The other two short stories; 5 - The others in random order. At the beginning of each chapter, there is a brief synopsis of the tale for you, the reader, to choose the ones that most inspired your curiosity. We hope, however, that you read them all, that you are encouraged to leave your impressions and that you have as much fun as we do.

A heart for rent

"I didn't know if what she offered me was serious, would renting her heart cost me just a smile? Part of me said it was foolish, that I should get up from this bench and go home to face my problems like the man who I was, that this girl, who infected me with her easy smile and happy look, was just a nutcase with nothing more useful to do than annoy me and the other part... That part found itself responding, first with the outline of a smile that was the required payment and then with the words I never thought would ever leave my lips..."

Indomitable Heart

One night an old Indian told his grandson about a battle that takes place within people. He said, — My son, the battle is between two "Wolves" within all of us. The other is Good, it is joy, peace, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith. — The grandson thought about it for a few minutes and asked his grandfather: — Which wolf wins? — The old Indian simply replied: — What do you feed. (The Legend of the Two Wolves) Just like in the legend, Leah constantly fights this battle within herself. A fight that will put you to challenge your own destiny. But how to beat him when you find yourself tied to the invisible ropes of Imprinting?! To be stuck forever with someone who belongs to another love... Leah wanted more. Much more... A love without strings. which transforms. That frees. A love greater than Imprinting! Because Leah Clearwater has an Indomitable Heart!
