Synopsis

Paris, 1920. Gabrielle Bretonne needs a husband. At least, that's what her mother says. At the advanced age of 23, Elle is about to finish her college degree and proudly bears the title of spinster. Her initial plan was to study and work—after all, while the country was in crisis and she had her hands on her, she saw no reason to be idle—but the prospect of an arranged marriage alarms her. Marrying the wrong man could cost her freedom. And Elle wouldn't allow it, no matter how well-meaning her mother was. Considering her options, Elle concludes her best bet is Evan Banks, an old acquaintance of the family. Bohemian, a lousy student, unbearable in every deed and word, he's not what Gabrielle would call an exemplary husband, but that should suffice. Despite having traded barbs all their lives, Elle will have to work hard to appear hopelessly in love with Evan, since her mother is a hopeless romantic. If she doesn't, all her dreams will be in jeopardy. [Drabbles 2022] [quadrilogy: LOVE IN FRENCH - 4]

“Right away, you realize why you need to read this story, as the protagonist is captivating. Gabrielle is an independent, studious woman who does not see herself living a life without work and the freedom she enjoys. For this reason, she will not bend to any suitor who appears, even though her marriage is a very important topic for her mother. Afraid of putting her free future to the test, Elle has the idea of pretending to have a relationship with an old acquaintance, with whom she exchanges a lot of provocations. And this is the second reason that will captivate you and keep you hooked on the story. It is at this moment that we have the privilege of getting to know Evan and the past that surrounds these two hardheads hihih, as well as the very fun relationship that they both cultivate. Narrated in a light and touching way, the author puts in a few words an essence of love, lightness, empathy and a pinch of drama that mixes with other very fun scenes, which we always finish reading with that feeling of: "it ended too quickly, I wanted more". If you are a fan of separate stories that complement each other, this story is a spin-off of a few others that the author has previously posted. Not to mention that it is a period narrative, which, in my opinion, only makes the story more graceful. It was a pleasure to follow each character and her particularities, as well as laughing, moving and cheering with each daily dose of one hundred very well written and captivating words. What are you waiting for? Come and be another admirer of this simple drabble ♥”

Ellora used to have the perfect life: cheerleading captain, a boyfriend with a promising future in football (and who also worshiped the ground she walked on), incredible friends, and a family who gave her unconditional support. Now, however, all the magical perfection of adolescence has faded with time, and all she has left are her best friends, Ollie and Blake. So, when the couple keeps the promise they made at age 17 that she be the bridesmaid at their wedding with Miguel, her ex-boyfriend, El knows she can't refuse. Love requires compromise, right? Determined not to ruin the most important day in the lives of her best friends, Ellora will have to face a pathetic revival of high school, Miguel, classmates full of pity (well-intentioned?) and all the ghosts of your lost dreams. Nothing that continuing to pretend that everything is fine won't solve.

The world has ended. There is no future left on the outside, nor humanity waiting to be rescued. What exists is a reality preserved by the will of a single person who keeps the memory of the world and everything that remains of humanity. The problem is that not everyone agrees that this existence should continue... Eine, a survivor of the catastrophe that destroyed human reality, dedicates her existence to ending the last traces of the people who were once at the center of these events. But, being unable to interfere directly in a dream that still continues, she must find hosts among the people who inhabit it. Her new attempt is Claire Williams. At nineteen, Claire has very ordinary concerns: university, the debts she took on to study, and the future she believes she is building. Now, however, she shares her own consciousness with a young man who knows a reality she cannot accept. As the boundaries between memory and existence begin to dissolve, those who walk between the two extremes will have to confront a question for which there may be no right answer: when the world has already ended, what does it mean to keep living?

10 years ago, the Kingdom of Coralina fell. Everyone thinks the heiress died that night. Everyone is wrong. Coral is 15 years old, has a pink tail that shines too brightly, a broken necklace from her mother, and a father who keeps looking over his shoulder. On her first day at High Tide School, she meets her best friends and a blue-tailed prince who feels like he has seen her in a dream. What Coral doesn't yet know is that her past is coming back to find her. And that she is much more important than she imagines.

There is a kind of silence that weighs more than any war cry. It is the silence of the gap between the oaks across the frozen ground, the steam of a soup shared only with longing and the constant fear of waiting for someone who may never return. In Patavium, Aemilia became the lady of a home haunted by uncertainty. Torn between the relentless responsibility of governing the land and the intimate torment of not knowing her husband's fate, she refuses to succumb to despair. To protect the property and those who depend on it, Aemilia will have to find strength where only solitude remains, proving that dignity and love can be shields as sturdy as iron.
