Cactus & Sunflowers
Helena, at 17, is submerged in a boring routine: the last year of high school consumes her energies, and the almost complete social exclusion at school, which turned her into the weird girl from the back, doesn't help at all. So, aside from her few friends and muay thai training, she doesn't see much reason to smile. However, when a new student joins your class in mid-April, the monotony of high school seems to take on a new lease of life; Marina is unaware of the unspoken social rules of the class, doesn't mind saying what she thinks and, on top of that, seems to want to approach only one person in the entire room: Helena. And it's impossible to avoid all kinds of feelings that this sudden change can generate.

“Cactus & Sunflowers is one of those simple stories that move us on deeper levels than we would imagine at first glance. Helena and Marina are two girls going through that desperate moment of choosing our entire future. And as if the entrance exam wasn't terrible enough, there's also bullying, the birth of new passions and facing your family in the search to be what you want to be without hurting the people you love so much. With wonderful writing and hyper-charismatic and engaging characters (even those we're already resentful of from the first moment), Cactos & Girassóis is a beautiful story of love, friendship and self-discovery.”
