“I read the book Capitães de Areia for the first time when I was fourteen years old and over the years I reread it and fell more and more in love with the story, the setting, the characters, the way Jorge Amado made things seem so cruelly painful. and at the same time beautiful for those children. I fell in love with the whole world he drew with his words. This fic made me feel almost the same thing, it made me feel almost as if I were reading Master Jorge's magnificent work once again. The author managed to capture the essence of the characters in a way that even though they are adults now, it is often possible to see in them the children they once were. In addition to answering questions that I'm sure not only I asked myself, like "what happened to the tapiche children when they grew up?" This fic is a response, "this is what happened." Realistic, romantic in the right measure and with a somewhat beautifully cruel ending. I loved it, everyone should read this perfection.”
