With the threat of the Chronicons gone, Director Mackenzie eventually left to lead his own division of S.H.I.E.L.D. just like the next adventure. But while he was still trying to adapt to his role and responsibilities, a big problem appeared to make his situation worse: clouds of terrigen began to spread randomly across the world, creating new inhumans, without support, fate or help.
