Signal Fire
Rachel Berry didn't know what to do. Not even in her worst-case scenarios, she would return to Lima so soon. Broadway was gone, and so was New York and all the glamor it had gained in the last seven years. She'd bet it was the shortest career in Broadway history. A musical and a flop. And now, with her dreams shattered and in Lima, she struggled to to get back on her feet, she struggled to go on living. She was looking for her fire signal.

“I started reading this story in 2012, where I couldn't find myself, I felt lost, empty, aimless... Just like most of the characters. At just 14 years old and with a fanfic, I was able to see meaning in things. I started to feel close to the characters and the story, which hadn't yet been finished. Things happened, I had to grow up, study and I no longer had time to read. Behold, 5 years later, broken and lost again, I found this story again just as Quinn Fabray found Rachel Berry. I can say that here I found my "Sign of Fire". What enchants me most is the fact that everything is more realistic. There wasn't that happy ending where Rachel becomes the big, famous Broadway star and Quinn gloriously graduates from Yale. No, here the pain is worked on. The author makes you feel in words what the pain of a love loss is, the pain of dreams seeming like just dreams in the end. I thank you, with a huge heart, for having the courage and audacity to write such a real, intense and well-crafted story. Signal Fire helped me in many ways. A shy (but welcoming) hug from a big fan of hers.”
