What if it was us? - Alternative ending

Note: "What if it were us?" is a book written by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera and was published in Brazil by Intrinseca. Here, I take the last two chapters of the epilogue and make some changes, as many (like me) didn't like the ending. I can't give a synopsis without spoiling what happens in the whole book, so make sure you only read it when you're done with the book, okay?

Simon vs. the summer vacation schedule

"Simon vs. the summer vacation agenda" follows the events of "Love, Simon" and "Leah on the offbeat". Summer vacation has begun. Simon has just graduated from high school and is already looking forward to college preparations. When he enters higher education, Simon will be away from Bram for the first time since they started dating and it's messing with his head a bit. At the same time, his friends' lives begin to move frantically and Simon feels he won't be able to keep up with so many changes.

In a city devastated by war, we follow the journey of two survivors who have learned, each in their own way, to live with violence, loss, and loneliness. He does not know that he saved her life. She knows only that he is more dangerous than the killers who threatened her. Neither of them seeks company. Nor do they believe that there is still room for kindness in a world where surviving demands so much. But a dead boy and an almost insignificant act of kindness end up intertwining their fates. Between small acts of care, silences, and difficult choices, two strangers discover that surviving the war may not be as difficult as learning to live after everything they have lost.

Side Effect

Trafalgar Law likes silence, organization, and, above all, keeping his personal life free of complications. Unfortunately, his new neighbor seems determined to go against every one of those preferences. Monkey D. Luffy is loud, impulsive, and has the terrible habit of showing up at the apartment next door as if he already lived there. And, for some reason, Law keeps opening the door. When an innocent lie about his love life threatens to turn into a disaster at his brother's wedding, Law finds a solution as absurd as it is convenient: asking Luffy to pretend to be his boyfriend for a weekend. The plan should be simple. A few displays of affection, a convincing story, and, after the ceremony, everything would go back to normal. Except Luffy knows exactly what he feels. And Law is about to discover that not everything can be solved with rules, planning, and a good dose of sarcasm. After all, the biggest problem with pretending to be in love is realizing that there may be no pretending at all.
