Gently, Near approached the grave, kneeling in the soft snow, feeling it slowly melt beneath his thin legs and wet his pale pants, but he ignored that fact. With his fingers uncovered by his glove, he wiped away the thin white blocks that fell onto the icy rock. He felt his fingers stiffen and his hand sting from the low temperature of that day, but he continued his business, until finally revealing the deceased's full name.
