vanilla
Against all odds, two very different people are attracted to each other. "I didn't see time pass in a linear fashion, but suddenly I was kneeling in front of her, staring at the perfection that was her face against the natural sunlight, the smell of an old book and vanilla filling my nostrils, your chest rising and falling slowly. I always wanted to know what the texture of your hair was and against my very white fingers it looked like ivy in the water, silky, thick. Its scent grew stronger and stronger. and drew me close to her and I got closer to feel her essence so provocative, so deliberate. I closed my eyes as if all this was a sacred ritual and maybe it was, for its impossibility, for its finitude. When I can almost feel your breath hot and slow I open my eyes and those two black wells are staring at me and I can see their lips move but I can't make out the words Time seems to have stopped and the air is saturated and there couldn't be a situation so ridiculously hopeless as I'm that one."
