Katherine Murray is persecuted by her uncle, because of her inheritance left by her grandparents, and flees to Los Angeles, in search of preserving her life. There she starts to live a different kind of life that she didn't know, leaving the most comfortable mansion of her grandparents in Philadelphia and ending up in a small house with a friend. Everything becomes a real mess in her life when her cousin Iain Murray MacLagan comes to look for her in LA, to return to Scotland to the home of her maternal family. Somehow, Iain stirs Kat's heart, making her feel different emotions together when she sees him, and even more so when she touches him... Iain, the moment he becomes aware of what his cousin is going through in the United States, goes to look for her, and when he finds her, many strange things start to happen to him, especially in her dreams. The heart also seems to rejoice every time he is near the woman, and cannot be separated from her. That little one manages to captivate him in a way that no other can, and makes him feel things she never thought to feel in her life... Both will discover together, in the ruins of ancient Murray Castle in the Scottish Highlands, where they pay a visit to see the restoration Iain had requested. When they find four paintings, well kept and intact, and several documents in one of the towers, they discover the strength of an old love, of another life, which comes to the surface overwhelmingly when they hear a prophecy said more than 500 years ago.
