Without getting anything in the place where they were, Jaskier and Geralt leave for a small village in Brugge looking for a possible service, there they come across the very rare appearance of a spirit that has the ability to magnify - through simple touch - all and any feeling that a person carries within them to an uncontrollable level. Such a touch can induce you to take both good and bad attitudes.
During one of their adventures, Jaskier ended up getting sick and Geralt had to deal with the consequences. In theory, it wasn't difficult to care for a fevered human, but it would be a lot easier if the wizard wasn't stupidly in love with the bard.
Fate had deprived Ciri of her fair and grand life, turning her into a princess of ruins and traumatized nightmares. It was eleven years of experiences and memories that shaped who she became today, and Geralt and Jaskier would have to deal with the problems that this would cause ahead.
