Victor Nikiforov is an unhappy man. His life is monotonous, full of regrets and without great adventures, alongside his wife, Diana P. Nikiforov, who is no flower to smell. Until one day, he meets Yuri Katsuki, a young Japanese friend of his teenage son, Yurio P. Nikiforov. Yuri was handsome, he had a rebellious aura and a youthful energy that he missed so much. And so, Victor sees in Yuri his opportunity to enjoy life more and turn around his problems. However, feelings arise and torment the agreement established for a good relationship hidden from the two lovers. But after all, how would that relationship work out being Victor married to someone else and being much older than Yuri? How would it work with Yuri having such a troubled past, especially with his illnesses? And as if that wasn't enough, how far would Victor's wife be willing to fight for what's hers? "The mood that inhabits me" is a complex story in which honesty is not the profile of this love triangle. Once the honesty is missing and the secrets are getting bigger, who to trust?
