“You scare the mare, better get in if the sun bothers her. We will? The girl opens the door of the tavern and enters without waiting for my answer, I go next and settle in the darkest and quietest part I could find in that place. —Of course I sat at the table putting my belongings still with me, I was never one to trust my things to others, let alone parting with them in places like this. The atmosphere of this place was not the best and the people were not pleasant, barbarians screaming madly because I have no idea, thieves, mercenaries, among others. I look to the side and notice that the girl I found outside is sitting next to me, I look at her a little confused since I didn't invite her to sit with me and was assuming she would be at another table. —Mirjana Puhar Di Duerren, are you? Mirjana, I had already heard this name in some cities I've been to since I started my mission. Something inside me tells me I can trust this warrior with my life, but I'm still not ready to tell her who I really am, not everyone knows the Drow's, but the D'Anggelus surname is strong anywhere in the realm, be it underground or no, thanks to the wars with our cousins, the Light Elves are considered despicable beings that live underground. If they knew the Illithids, my thoughts are interrupted by the lady who runs the tavern, she was already old, but her competence at work is admirable. —Will you want something? —A cup of wine, please. I look at Mirjana wondering what to say to her, it wouldn't be right to lie to her, especially considering who I am. But I can't risk losing everything, not now. I decided to say my first name and use the last name of one of my brother's troop generals. — Cydril Balefrost, please. I'll have plain wheat bread, beef stewed in bitter stout for both of us, and a glass of Sima for me, if that's clear. The lady looks at us for a moment before making her way to the kitchen, I think in order to assess whether we would be able to pay for what was ordered or not, these people tend to be quite cautious about it. I look at Mirjana who laughs for a moment and then speaks again. —I'm glad you asked, I was really hungry.
