"I wish I could be in some other time or space. With someone else's soul and face." (Someday I'll Be Saturday Night - Bon Jovi) Have you ever imagined yourself living another life? Can you imagine how amazing, how good, how difficult it could be? Well, we figured it out. This is a collection of short stories based on the premise of the wonderful book Every Day, by David Levithan, in which, for unknown reasons, the protagonist wakes up every day in someone else's body. With that in mind, we, teachers, staff, students and friends who are part of the Carpe Librum group, held a literary contest at our school and the result is in this fic. The order of posting is as follows: 1 - The first three stories are from the organizers; 2 - Then come the top three; 3 - The one chosen by popular vote; 4 - The other two short stories; 5 - The others in random order. At the beginning of each chapter, there is a brief synopsis of the tale for you, the reader, to choose the ones that most inspired your curiosity. We hope, however, that you read them all, that you are encouraged to leave your impressions and that you have as much fun as we do.
You must think I'm crazy to believe that all of this could be real, and I say you're a mortal Muggle who doesn't believe in magic.
Rhiannon. This is always my first thought when I wake up. I feel like I'll never forget her, and it hurts. I chose to move on. But why does this keep bothering me? Even though I'm always jumping from body to body, it affects me. I think it's universal, even when it's been three years since I left her and ran away.
In the vast and indifferent fabric of space-time, where improbability is a constant and logic is rarely invited for tea, there exists the Department of Interdimensional Bureaucracy (DIB). Its purpose? To ensure that reality remains minimally functional or, at least, sufficiently confusing so that no one notices otherwise. But something went wrong. Horribly, catastrophically, fill-out-three-copies-of-reports wrong. Immanuel Breckford, a man whose greatest achievement until then was remembering where he left his keys, unexpectedly finds himself involved in one of the DIB's most catastrophic failures. Upon receiving a Temporary Ontological Adjustment Request Form 42/B, his existence is recalculated. To correct this cosmic blunder, the DIB sends Artemis Xyllan-7, Senior Auditor and specialist in metaphysical disasters. Armed with an expired stopwatch, a pen that alters probabilities, and the patience of a black hole, she has little time (and even less desire) to fix the problem before the universe decides to file Immanuel away permanently.
In Hawkins, things rarely disappear for good; they change shape, location, or name and keep circulating under the guise of normality. In the summer of 1985, the town is still awash in color, music, and activity, while small inconsistencies remain scattered among ordinary events, unfinished stories, and coincidences that seem to linger longer than they should. For someone who came here hoping to find nothing but distance, the place begins to take on a strangeness that is difficult to pin down, as if something were always slightly out of place, too close to ignore and too obscure to name.
Esta é uma história contada em 31 cartas, todas escritas na época natalina, sobre viajar num comboio muito especial, onde a magia acontece realmente. HISTÓRIA PARA ADOLESCENTES E GRAÚDOS
