Synopsis

There is something peculiar about Marielly Mason: She always wears black. With a traumatic childhood and a troubled adolescence, her uncles choose to put her in a psychiatric hospital for young people, thinking that a good relationship would help her to face her problems. "My body throbs in pain, I'm falling into an abyss I created myself." With little conviction and hope, not even believing in love, her heart closes completely making her someone cold and melancholy. And the strangest thing to stand out is not his troubled past, the people who seem to only tell lies and much less his hypocritical words, but… those eyes. "If I created my own demons, why can't I kill them?" Those eyes that seemed to read her soul, that made her sigh, and that somehow or other would force her out, her last shred of sanity. *~* "He had those eyes... those eyes that seem to read the soul, he has black eyes, tempestuous and at the same time serene. He exhaled a toxic air and poisoned, everything about him exuded danger. But they brought me a comfort, as if, no matter how much time passed, or the insanities that were there, he would always bring me comfort, a stability that not even in my wildest dreams I had."

There is a similar trait between William Peterson and Melissa Mason: they are both gambling freaks. "You, you worm- I pushed his not-so-defined sill with my index finger, looking at him angrily as I spoke- are a monster, you- I pushed him again making him walk backwards- only know how to break hearts! I wonder, have you ever loved someone?! -And I'm to blame if she gave me her "heart"?- he made exaggerated quotes in the air. -You only know how to let people down? Don't you ever stop? Run there, see if there's any more naive girls for you to destroy- I turned my back on him, only imagining how much easier it would be to kill him. -Really? Do I know how to let people down?- he asked in a hard, angry voice, still standing where I had pushed him. -Isn't that all you do?- I asked in my low voice, my best lethal tone. br /> -Okay, let's make it like this then, a bet. For three months I can't let you down and you can't let me down. Whoever loses will have to leave campus. He can I would have said anything and I would have refused any association with the King of Disappointments, but the thirst for gambling that coursed through my veins made me thirsty again. -And how will I know if you won't let me down? -Easy, until the end of the term, you'll have to live with me." Restrained in their own bubble of ignorance and selfishness, these two beings are put to the test when a bet arises that leads them down a path that both never imagined they could walk together. A stormy and violent path, that would make them reach the limit and crack what one day they could call "paradise".

Mas vou me esforçar.
