Song of Blood
Ayme Johnson never had and never wished for a perfect life, she was never the kind of girl who dreamed of her prince charming, she is not the kind of girl who believes in love. She's never had a hard time assimilating the facts, being more rational than emotional is part of who she is. Ayme has never experienced being guided by anything other than these two. But now that she's part of an underworld, a world where hiding is essential to stay alive - or something close to it, since apparently she's now more dead than alive - Ayme has to deal with a new barrier. . The instinct. Ayme was never afraid of horror movies, but it always seemed to her, that all mythological beings - like vampires and werewolves, were evil because they just wanted to - was more than enough explanation. It never crossed her mind that they couldn't help but be like that. But now it's something that can't get out of her head anymore, because now she knows, that maybe the monsters in all those horror movies could be being controlled by something bigger than themselves. The instinct, the need to attack, to get what was the only thing to stop the pain – to quench the thirst. As much as the sensation returned, she knew it would, the longer she managed to keep it away, the better.
