Kyle (Alex Pettyfer) was a successful and sought-after young man who believed that looks were everything. One day, while trying to humiliate Kendra (Mary-Kate Olsen), she casts a spell on him that leaves his face disfigured. Embarrassed by his appearance, he hides and lives in isolation in an apartment bought by his father, with the company of his maid Zola (Lisa Gay Hamilton) and Will (Neil Patrick Harris), a blind teacher hired to give him private lessons. The curse lasts for one year, and if Kyle manages to get a woman to love him for who he is, not what he looks like, she will be undone. Disillusioned, Kyle has hope again when he approaches Lindy (Vanessa Hudgens), a high school classmate who is very different from the women he has lived with until then.
