I should have gotten used to him not being here by now. The first time was three months. Three months without any news, but a huge hope that he was alive. But after he came back it was inevitable that we didn't become more. Iron Man saved Tony Stark, and also gave him responsibility, maturity, opened his horizons to a lot of new things, including love. And his love was me. The second time was 22 days, and I came to believe he wouldn't come back. "No more surprises", he had said before embarking on that last mission, we didn't know that the biggest surprise of our lives was on the way. In fact he knew, he had dreamed. And even if Tony didn't come back I would have something of him forever. But he came back, and in the midst of all the sadness that had settled in the world, we had five intense years in our little bubble of happiness. Ten years ago I had no idea it would all end this way, but Tony was absolutely right when he said that knowing he was Iron Man would terrify me, and the fear of losing him it would always make me tense and more and more crazy about him, the problem is that I wasn't the only one to know, he told the whole world. Iron Man's sacrifice saved the whole world, but it took away the love of my life, the father of my daughter. It's been a while since our bubble burst, and even though I told him we'd be fine, I can't accept it. Even more so after knowing that all the Avengers went on with their lives. And if some rescued their past, why couldn't I rescue our future?
