Tourette's syndrome is a neurological or neurochemical disorder characterized by tics, rapid reactions, sudden movements (spasms) or vocalizations that occur repeatedly in the same way with considerable frequency. These motor and vocal tics constantly change in intensity and no two people in the world have the same symptoms. Most affected people are male. For years, Gale and I tried to have children, but nothing seemed to work out. As a last option, but not the worst, we decided to get in line for adoption for a child. That's when we found him. That's what he was nicknamed at the orphanage. Syndrome. He didn't have a name and didn't relate to anyone, he just stayed in a corner, drawing or doing repetitive things and more. Today, he was Peter Everdeen Hawthorne. Smart and strong. I never imagined that I would depend on my son for some things, but today I needed him more than ever.
