Arcadia, our mighty city. After the discovery of the Particle of Bite, a small particle capable of forming anything by adjusting its structure to match the desired things, our city’s technological industries accelerated humanity to a next level.

The Technopole ACCEL Industry, however, found something that would change one’s life. The existence of a catalyzer of these particles, the Heart of Mary Sue. This heart-looking stone could synthesize these particles so humans could control them more freely, and by year 2069, every human being was already born with such ability.

To control these particles, each newborn had a rune attached to its hand, it would match a specific part of one’s brain, and the particles would only create things related to this part of our subconscious. If one would be born loving warfare, the particles could become any form of gun. Danger existed, but we learned how to defend ourselves from the crazies.

However, it was on that fateful day, the ACCEL Industry decided to promote the biggest challenge one could ever do, the Great Arcadia Raid. They built a machine that could endlessly create gigantic rooms like those of video game dungeons. The prize, a fragment of Mary Sue’s Heart.

This one fragment could be absorbed by the rune, and allow any human to perform more than its given ability. This prize of a lifetime could change many people’s destiny. Power is a unique word; anyone wants it, no matter what kind. I, together with my friends, Kaida, Scott, Tai and Ryu, decided to form a party. Together, we would fight for this one fragment, and as we hope, by breaking it further, we would be able to partake the same augmentation.

[In the next day]

“Today is the great day! No matter what, we will break into that machine, and we will defeat everyone and everything!” Ryu yearned the most for such power, not that he disliked his power, but that he wished of something more

“We will be recognized! All the girls will fight for us!” Scott, however, had more filthy thoughts about victory, neither of us could blame him, as we too wanted some minutes of fame

“I just want to prove I am the best fighter in this city~!” Tai, a true beast on the battlefield. He is our trump card, since he has proven to be, out of our 5, the best in terms of close quarts combat

“Now, everyone, keep calm! We don’t want to get ahead of ourselves.” Kaida, a true brother, he is the oldest of the group, brother of Scott; he promised he would join our crusade not for power, but to protect his brother and us.

“Alright, let’s move on the main stage.” Moreover, I, of course, too wished for the power of the fragment. There was something I wanted to prove, and the fragment would be more than enough

We reached the main stage, a man from the ACCEL Industry, the CEO Faust, greeted us. Teams from all sizes awaited for the door to open, the crowd yearned for this spectacle. Faust grabbed his microphone and said:

“We search for our places; we search for what is ours. Prove that the power inside this everlasting maze of wonders if yours! Prove to humanity that our advances has not been to waste! Search for the Heart of Mary Sue!”

The crowd went hysteric, the good-looking busyness man could put a whole group of secretaries to nosebleed with his charismatic smile. He start chanting something, possibly talking over a small Bluetooth cellphone. After his chat, he proclaimed:

“This is it, ladies and gentlemen. We are ready to begin, the biggest event of your lives. After this door, wonders will fear and amaze. Be ready to loot whatever you get, you will need the biggest and coolest weapons our beasts can drop in our chic loot system. Fight against the bosses; see what is after dozens of doors! Our beloved company does not respond to any injury caused by our creations! And now…It’s Dungeon Time!”

We touched our rules, which allowed us to use the Accel Mode, the mode where can freely manipulate our Bite Particles:

“DAGAZ!” Kaida’s rune of purity enshrouded the big brother in a capsule of light, feathers of holy beings descended upon the boy. The capsule exploded, revealing a young man of pure light. As the symbol of infinity pressed onto this heavenly body, the Herald of New Era showed his gallant light armor, grabbed his trustful halberd and prepared to fight

“JERA!” Scott’s rune shine and revealed different musical strings, as each one took part of his body, forming a new clothing, one more free and durable. The two crushing symbols united and formed what would be his special sneakers, capable of causing different types of effects once the user leaps. The Concussive Striker was ready to battle

“ANSUZ!” Tai’s rune ignited his soul and combusted his body to ashes, as a whirlwind of ever-blazing fire picked up each ash and united to form a spear with an unusual snake-like blade. The blade summoned a small shinning soul, from which the man’s body reappeared; he was here, the Unknown Fire Announcer

“BERKANO!” My rune slowly broke the fabric of time and space. As the whole created showed countless unwavering eyes, the thread of universe seamed my new form. To win the lifetime, that was my duty, and with the aid of everyone, we will win. For that, I am the Ritual Seamster

“EHWAZ!” Moreover, for our last member, and our leader, Ryu’s rune invoked the clash of winds, as a calm breeze comforted his soul, and a wild monsoon comforted his body. The clash of unique events could summon the greatest, the only one who can meister wind of our town. He came to obliterate all foes, he is the Catastrophe Knight

The doors opened, and it was time for us to show what we got. Alongside thousands of teams, we throw ourselves into the crazed journey. Inside the installation, colored doors appeared before our eyes and a holographic image of Faust emerged in the center of the room.

“This is the dungeon’s first challenge! Each door leads to a unique dungeon, but all of them also lead to the room where the fragment lies. Choose wisely, ones are easier than the others!”

“So which one do we choose?” Kaida wondered, while looking at our competition quickly dive into random doors

“BARGING THROUGH!” As fast and furious as a loose locomotive, a girl threw herself into the closest door, she pulled her friend with her

“Wait! Wait! My hairpin!” In the convoy, one of the girls left her bunny pin fall on the ground, we quickly lost sight of her

In this quick glance, Scott saw the face of the beautiful woman, or so he said, he grabbed the hairpin and threw himself on the same door:

“Uh, guess he choose for us!” “That stupid idiot…”

“Let’s just hope it’s not an easy one~!”

“You read my mind, Tai!” We too jumped on the same place, and so our journey was set, what awaited us after the door was our only fear

All the doors closed, all the participants were inside the huge installation of the Arcadia Raid. Faust watched over his seat on the executive room of the building

“With this number of runes, we will be able…she will awaken…and there’s nothing to stop us…”

“Oh…there is something, isn’t there, sweetie~?” An androgynous man, sitting on a chair, drinking a cocktail, reluctantly said while glaring at Faust’s eyes

“She will not interfere, not while she’s “entertained” by our little game…”

“So, we’re sure. Nothing will stop it, the Perfect Glass World.”
